Use arrow keys/WASD to move and cursor to look. The game starts you off in an almost-random Wikipedia article and allows you to view a gallery of its contents, then make a decision about which link to follow: the left door and the right door at the end of each hallway lead to another article linked to in the first. Like a dream, you'll never know where you might end up and how thin the membranes of human history really are. For the curious, logs of the names of articles you're traversing appear in the console.

Built for a Wikipedia Game Jam in NYC in October 2025 by Akshita Jain, Gabe Fields, Jiadai He, and Anahit Gulian. We wanted to build a game that allows players to experience the history of the world through dream-logic. The code was written through conversations with ChatGPT and interacts directly with the Wikipedia API. I created this WebGL build without adding any new features, to preserve the game in its hackathon glory without leaving it so buggy it would discourage players. Thank you to Char Stiles for the custom shader and to Wikipedia and Hex House for hosting the hackathon! Source code here: https://github.com/sathytrench/daydream
